Namibia Day 10 - Etosha NP Okaukuejo To Halali

After an early wake up we were keen to get on the way to Halili. Days in Etosha are spent driving the vast network of tracks looking out for animals as you visit the numerous waterholes.
Our route was chosen by following the guides from the visitor centre which give details of permanent and non permanent waterholes plus natural and man made water holes. Throughout the day the prairies and plains were often full of Zebra, Wildebeest and Springbok.

On our way exploring the tracks a herd of elephants passed in front of the car with lots of young calfs.
When they finished crossing over the road we moved the car a little too early and the last elephant turned flapped his ears to let us know we were too close (a bit scary LOL).
Continuing on the criss crossing tracks throughout Etosha we spotted large herds of Zebra and Wildebeest (1000's) as well as Springbok, Kudu and Impala all travelling together.

One of the the highlights of the day and possibly the whole trip was when we came upon a Bull Elephant cooling down in a waterhole. Almost completely submerged at times and blowing bubbles, spraying water and generally chilling out like he did not have a care in the world.
It was a truly magical experience and something we were privileged to experience.
In the evening we watched a herd of elephants and rhinos while we enjoying a few vodkas.
